Breathwork is, simply, the intentional manipulation of your breath. If you've ever meditated, you may have observed your breath as part of that. Here, you're actively and consciously controlling how you breathe.
Imagine being able to quickly change your physical, mental, and emotional state based on how you want to feel, when you want to feel it. That's the power of breathwork. Need a burst of creativity for a business problem? Or maybe you're trying to "hurry up and relax" so you can get some quality rest? In either case, I see you! And in either case - and so many more - learning to control your breath can help.
No. In fact, every person who learns breathwork started from zero. All you need is your breath! Having said that, certain breathing techniques aren't a good fit for everyone. If you have any medical conditions that concern you, talk to your doctor before starting a new program. Even with preexisting conditions, a breathwork coach can help you come up with a safe and effective program.
I often tell clients to try a technique for just 3 minutes and see how they feel afterward, because you can see the results of breathwork very quickly. Study after study has shown that just a few minutes of intentional breathing can reduce your heart rate and blood pressure. Having said that, this is a practice that becomes more effective and more therapeutic the more often you do it. So while you can see results from just a little breathwork, if you want to sustain those results, you'll want to make it a part of your routine.

I discovered breathwork the hard way - sick in bed on vacation.
Desperate to keep my mind occupied, I was doing a lot of guided meditations and kept returning to the ones that had a breathwork element to them. So I started exploring further when I got back.
I loved how great I felt by adding just a little breathwork to my day. This stuff was magic! But no one else I knew was doing it...
I decided to get certified as a breathwork coach so I could share the power of this incredible practice with other people. I'm also a licensed Heart Centered facilitator, a certified menopause coach, and will be a certified MindBodyGreen life coach in January 2025.

The name 44 Breathwork represents a few things. As an angel number (i.e. repetitive digits), 44 symbolizes both transformation and stability. Breathwork is highly transformative, and once you tune into it, your breath can be a source of comfort and stability.
44 also refers to a breathing technique called box breathing, where a full breath takes 16 seconds (4x4). The Navy Seals love it, and I do too.
